Q: What is the defintion of Ford Prefect?

A: It's a car! In the 1950s, Britain came out with a car named Ford Prefect (prefect means authoritarian) that looks like today's PT Cruiser. When asked why he chose this name for the character Douglas Adams replied that Ford misunderstood what the dominant species was on Earth. He thought the cars were smarter than the people! But isn't this funny?
