How do I get rid of the adhesive left over from a strong vinyl sticker thats been rmoved from an appliance?

This is a really sticky thin layer of adhesive that barely budges even when scratching it off with your fingernails. It's left over from a vinyl sticker applied by by Black and Decker on my handheld hoover! Need to get rid of it as dust sticks to it!
