Haircut before basics help?

I know this should be one of my least concerns but I have a problem. During my enrollment day, we were notified 2-3 at different occasions NOT to cut our hair before going to Basics. I went today to ``TRIM`` my hair when some lady started shaving away on my top hair when I told her I wanted my SIDES only to be done. My buddies are telling me that I will eat **** for this, starting to get nervous because not only did I cut my hair days before, but also I have V shaped side burns. Will they shave off my sideburns completely?
